It is quite easy to convince your mobile service provider to handover the bank details it seems.
This was proved by a BBC reporter on BBC 4s You and Yours programme.
Using this trick, the reporter effectively changed the registered mobile number associated with the bank account.
Once done, he was able to pull up the banking portal belonging to his producer.
I was able to break to her account without knowing her banking customer number, PIN or any passwords.
The bank in question, NatWest, has reworked its online security following the BBCs report.
