BlackBerry India is planning to bring its virtual SIM solution to India later this year.

According to PT, the virtual SIM can hold upto 9 mobile numbers on a single SIM.

This can eliminate the use of dual-SIM smartphones.

BlackBerrys virtual SIM relies heavily on the technology of Movirtu, which it acquired in 2014.

According to BGR, switching between the multiple SIMs is also said to be a simple task.

BlackBerry is currently in talks with Indian regulatory authorities for clearance to deploy this solution in the country.
