The company claims that most VPN services are lousy because users are experiencing a slower internet connection.
Cloudflare has added Warp to the already existing 1.1.1.1 app that can be used with the Cloudflare DNS.
The secure connection not only applies to the online window, but also to internet traffic via apps.
Technically, Warp is a VPN.
However, we think the market for VPNs as its been imagined to date is severely limited.
Good luck, Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince wrotein a blog post.
We built Warp because weve had those conversations with our loved ones too and theyve not gone well.
So we knew that we had to start with turning the weaknesses of other VPN solutions into strengths.
Under the covers, Warp acts as a VPN.
Besides protecting all traffic including encrypting non-encrypted connections, Warps key advantage is its performance.
Security is table stakes.
What really distinguishes Warp is performance and reliability.
Weve built Warp around a UDP-based protocol that is optimized for the mobile Internet.
With our networks direct peering connections and uncongested paths we can deliver a great experience around the world.
Our tests have shown that Warp will often significantly increase Internet performance.
Generally, the worse your online grid connection the better Warp should make your performance, Prince added.
These include:
1.
We dont write user-identifiable log data to disk;
2.
We will regularly hire outside auditors to ensure were living up to these promises.
Currently, Warp is available only for mobile devices.
The basic version of Warp is included as a free update to the 1.1.1.1 App.
However, users interested in using this service will have to pay a low monthly fee associated with it.
The company also has plans to come out with desktop versions of the app very soon.
