Scottrade security breach affects 4.6 million customers, personal information stolen.
It says that it has no reason to believe that Scottrades trading platforms or any client funds were compromised.
Client passwords remained fully encrypted and that it hasnt noticed any fraudulent activity as a result of this incident.
It also said that it was notifying customers of the hack as a precaution.
Scottrade is offering affected customers a year of complimentary identity protection services through AllClear ID.

This is the second major breach reported in the US this week.
