Googles data centers are used to run such services as Search, YouTube and Gmail.
This will also help other companies who run on Googles cloud to improve their own energy efficiency.
It can even be applied to other domains like the national energy grid, or optimizing water usage.
Google claims that its data centers are already among the most energy-efficient in the world.
I really think this is just the beginning.
