Microsoft made this announcement at the Red Hat DevNation conference in San Francisco.
Microsoft claimed that as many as 18,000 developers from 1,300 different companies contributed in making of .NET Core 1.0.
This is the biggest transformation of .NET since its inception and will define .NET for the next decade.
