Keeping security auditing in mind, Parrot Security OS 3.0 has been designed with penetration testing.
Each edition is designed for a specific target audience, featuring more or less security-oriented tools.
The OS is based on Debian GNU/Linux 8 Jessie and ships with a custom hardened Linux 4.5 kernel.
The desktop environment should be MATE.
