Samsungclaims the product is the industrys largest solid state drive (SSD).
Its predecessor, the PM1633 used Samsungs 2nd generation, 32-layer, and 128 GB V-NAND memory.
Samsung also uses specially designed firmware that can access large amounts of high-density NAND flash simultaneously.
The 15.36TB PM1633a drive supports 1 DWPD (drive writes per day).
Samsung is now shipping the PM1633a 15.36TB SSD line-up for the enterprise.
