Samsung Electronics today announced that it has started mass producing 12Gb LPDDR4 RAM chips using its 20nm process technology.
Samsung thus became the first company to mass produce such chips.
Samsung itself noted in its press release, this will allow the creation of smartphones with 6GB of RAM.
Samsungs LPDDR4 chips are expected to significantly accelerate the adoption of high capacity mobile DRAM worldwide.
