There are many different options for running Linux software on Windows.

It just translates Linux system calls into their Windows counterparts or offers emulation when there isnt a 1:1 match.

As a result, ALWSL needs to do very little on its own to make Arch Linux work.

You can now run Arch Linux on Windows using AWSL

With no real documentation, the project is still in its very early stages.

If you dont want to break anything, wait for the first release.

Nonetheless, interesting possibilities are already developing.

This opens the avenue for a new wave of playing around with WSL that needs incrementally less heavy lifting.

Although ALWSL isnt ready for prime time, there is already some tinkering on the way.
